![]() The Outlook & District Heritage Museum is a must see. Located in a former railroad station, stepping into the aged CPR terminal is like stepping back in history. The museum took over the old CPR station in 1992 and was officially opened on June 5th, 1993. The station was built in 1909, less than a year after the settlement of the town. It is filled with numerous interesting artifacts and photographs and there's always someone available to give the story behind each one. The Museum has over 3000 items and most of them are directly linked to someone who lived in Outlook or the surrounding area. Use the Museum floor plan below to take a virtual tour through our rooms. Each one reflects a typical room in an early settlers house. Special Events Each YearSecond Saturday in May - Town Wide Garage Sale - Registration at the Museum. Over 20 homes take part and then bring their left-over items down to the Museum. Then every Saturday the summer the Museum has its own huge fund-raising garage sale. We now have a genuine hand-built Clay Oven which we fire up frequently and produce the best cinnamon buns. We also have a wonderful Gazebo built by carpentry students from Prairie West College and largely funded by the Dakota Dunes Casino. Here we often feature music by local performers. This is also booked by families or groups for special summer events. Our e-mail address is outlookmuseum@hotmail.com |
