Recycling - Town Of Outlook

The following list is a reference on how to prepare and in which bin to place your recyclables.
Bins are located behind the Shop Easy store downtown, on the eastside of town at the Rec Plex,
south of the Civic Centre on Semple St., and outside the Recycling Depot on McKenzie Street
(Glass is accepted only at the Shop Easy location.) Seniors may access bins at Golden Acres and
between the Golden Acres hi-Rise and Luther Place.
Cardboard
Please flatten any boxes you may have as much as you can. Box board (i.e. cereal boxes, soap boxes, toilet rolls,
empty tissue boxes) may be placed here.
Newspaper
Can include any flyers or any type of newspaper. Do not place envelopes or other types of paper in the bin!
Hi-Grade Paper
Can include computer paper, writing paper, envelopes or any of this type of paper may be placed here.
Magazines
Can include glossy types of paper, phone books, catalogues or books.
Tin Cans
Please wash out the inside of all food cans. It is NOT necessary to cut out both ends, remove labels or flatten the
can. Aerosol cans may be placed here as well as aluminum pans or foil. Please do NOT bag, just dump loose cans
in the bin. Paint cans with paint in them can be all poured into one & put with regular garbage. The paint cans with
dried paint in them can be recycled.
Milk Cartons
Please rinse cartons out thoroughly so they do not create an odor problem in warm weather. All waxy coated
cartons (i.e. orange juice, eggnog, etc.) can be placed here.
Plastic Milk Jugs
Please rinse out containers thoroughly, place jugs in milk jug bin, remove lids and place lids in Plastics Bin.
Plastics
All plastic containers (except for plastic milk jugs and NO STYROFOAM) may be placed here. Please remove
all lids when possible and place them in the bin also. Please rinse clean all food containers. It is NOT necessary
to remove labels from any plastic containers. All types of plastic bags are acceptable to place in this bin.
Glass
Glass containers must be taken to the recycling centre behind the Shop Easy store Downtown.
Coloured or clear glass is acceptable. Please remove lids. It is NOT necessary to remove any labels.
